Collection: Collection 26.01

Go to Italy, get inspired. It’s nothing new—everyone from Lord Byron to the dearly departed Tanya McQuoid has done it. So, it comes as no surprise, then, that a recent trip to Sicily was a wellspring.

It started on morning runs through the streets of Taormina. I would be struck by the town’s chimneys: straightforward circles and diamonds, as well as carefully considered lattices that revealed themselves in the long light.

And then there was all the majolica, with its rich hues, painted patterns, and elaborate decorations. Completely different from the chimneys, but on closer inspection revealed, riffs on similar shapes, consistent colors, and the same techniques, all used again and again by countless craftspeople.

Collection 26.01 is our take on this centuries-old design tradition. Except instead of chimneys, colonnades, amphorae, and more, it’s the shapes and techniques we’ve honed over the past seven years, rendered in entirely new, Italianate forms.
